The role of education is very overrated nowadays but one thing is ignored. When boys outperformed girls in schools, feminism changed education systems to make them more girl-friendly. Funny how feminists see no need to change education now.
Most teachers are women nowadays and if you think there is no prejudice against boys or favouritism towards girls among them then you are very much mistaken.
The manosphere is jam-pack full of hard truths. The Left has only half-truths. Feminists claim that they help men because they can be more open about their emotions, but when men express those emotions, feminists dismiss or mock them (which is where the phrase "male tears" came from).
I agree with so much of this except I’m always curious abt why now, after boys have fallen behind in education, are people locating this shift to developmental differences, ie brain development. It wasn’t an issue in education, meaning boy surpassed girls, until abt the 90s. To me that points to social shifts-namely that education has been coded feminine and therefor it’s become more threatening to masculinity to engage and succeed within it.
I’m not in agreement with the structuralist viewpoint that makes a bifurcated distinction between men and women.
There is a spectrum of maleness and femaleness that isn’t one or the other. The problem with men or women is not that “they” are having difficulty with institutions or vise versa but have been made into a homogeneous group that squashes nuance and subtly into submission. Black and white, men and women , on and on with these miserable stupid distinctions that on a one hand are baseless but given social acceptance is horrible, locking us into a war of identities.
Identity politics relies on putting people into monolithic groups that are either victims or victimizers. With a total lack of social solidarity it’s not surprising that people are attracted to a particular identity that confirms their inner worth. Men have just continued this trend and now we have identity warriors doing battle with the other gender.
People are hungry for social solidarity and will unfortunately support a fascist who declares he is against a DEI program that emphasizes separating people into identity groups.
It's hypergamy. Young men have very small prospects of ever having a family and home now.
Why should young men care about society when it's crapped all over their social contract?
Does your new version of masculinity include being "happy" alone and childless? If so I can guarantee you have leaned nothing by the right wing surge across the world propelled by men.
We want families and houses. Ideas such as freedom, equality and justice are very much secondary to these concerns
